QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs team deputed at Surab Khazadar area made huge crackdown against the various type of foreign origin smuggled goods in worth Rs.10 millions and registered cases against the tax evaders and smugglers.
Collector Preventive Dr.Iftikhar Ahmad while disclosing the crackdown details said that he was shared a secret information with Additional Collector Jamil Baloch, Deputy Collector Shaikh Abdul Qadoos, Assistant Collector Arshad Umair and Superintendent Saleem Mandokhail who formed anti-smuggling squad comprising Inspector Ahmad Nawaz Zubari, Ramat Ullah Khalgi.
The ASO squad intercepted a truck loaded with huge quantity of foreign origin smuggled goods including iron wire rods in 24 M\T along with offending vehicle as well. The collector told that in another case the ASO squad seized 30000 liters smuggled diesel which was recovered by a truck.
He said that ASO also seized huge quantity of foreign origin cloth of different types and recovered anar dana, tiles and plastic bags near Lakpass Check Post. The anti-smuggling squad was comprising Additional Collector Abdul Qadoos along with the ASO staff comprises Yousaf Tarmazi and Sher Khan
The collector told that Chief Collector Dr. Zulifaqar appreciated the crackdown conducted by Customs staff and officers.
