Quetta Customs I&I foils bid to smuggle luxury vehicles tyres & batteries worth Rs9.56m

QUETTA: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation on Monday morning has foiled a bid to smuggle big quantity of luxury vehicles tyres and commercial batteries worth Rs. 9.56 million during special checking.

Sources told Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Muhammad Akram Chaudhary received a tip-off that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non custom paid luxury vehicles tires and commercial batteries from outside of Quetta.

He constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Inspector Nasir Sharif belongs to Preventive department and others members. The team enhanced the surveillance in Ziarat to Kavas Highway road and started search of vehicles.

During the search operation, the team intercepted a loaded truck bearing registration no: QCV-382 which was going out of Ziarat city.

During the checking, the customs team recovered 300 new brand luxury vehicles tyres and 100 pieces of commercial batteries worth Rs 9.56 million. The customs team seized all the goods and arrested two smugglers after registering a case of smuggling against them.
