QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized huge quantity of Indian origin betel nuts smuggled old tyres, new welding rods, silver plate and parachute cloths in worth of Rs15 million.
Sources told Customs Today, credible information was received that an attempt to smuggles foreign origin goods from a Hino truck will be made. After receiving information anti-smuggling squad established a secret check post near Customs Station Kolpur. The team intercepted a Hino truck which was coming from Punjab. During search the ASO team recovered betel nuts, old and new tires, welding rods, silver plate, parachute cloths.
The sources told that the market value of these confiscated goods along with offending vehicle (vehicle use for carrying smuggled goods) is estimated around Rs15 million rupees approximately, it added that the case has been registered against the possessor of smuggled goods and vehicles while further investigation is under process.
The staff of Customs Station Kolpur who taken part in said seizure was including Inspectors Ghulam Hussain Khoso, Naseer Shaheen, Isfund Yar and Asghar Khan Kakar, the Collector Preventive appreciated the Customs staff of Kalpur.
