DOHA: Qatar Exchange (QE) will strengthen and expand its cooperation with local institutions of higher studies, including leading universities and colleges, by developing innovative training programmes, especially in the field of finance and investment to promote business leadership in the country.
This was announced by Rashid Ali Al Mansoori, Chief Executive Officer of the Qatari bourse during a Business Sohour held in honour of the senior faculty members, including deans and professors of who are teaching Business and Economic in different universities in Qatar.
Al Mansoori also expressed his satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation between QE and the Qatari universities and stated that the QE is actively participating in nation-building activities in its capacity as a well-established and prestigious national institution in Qatar.
“In line with the human, economic and social pillars of Qatar National Vision (QNV) 2030, QE is keen to cooperate with the Qatari universities in development and training programmes designed to help the link between educational output and the professional life”, he added.
Established in 1995, the Doha Securities Market (DSM) officially started operations in 1997. Since then QE has grown to become one of the leading stock markets in the GCC region.
In light of QNV 2030, which seeks to build a strong national economy based on knowledge, and with regard to QE’s mission to raise financial and investment awareness among Universities students, QE held the Sohour that was attended by the deans and professors of Qatari business and economic faculties as well as representatives from Qatar Development Bank (QDB).
The QDB is a very critical financial entity which is fully owned by the government. This was established to developing local industries by supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Qatar. QDB aligned its strategy to correspond with the QNV 2030.
The attended universities included Qatar University, Carnegie Mellon University, College of North Atlantic, Georgetown University and HEC Paris. QE’s CEO and Colleges’ Deans discussed during the meeting the mutual cooperation opportunities between the Exchange and their universities in Finance and Investment education fields.
