LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has started monitoring of restaurants in posh localities of Lahore.
Sources told Customs Today that the authority has installed its invoice monitoring system at Salt and Pepper and Hot and Spicy, Defence, Lahore.
A team of the PRA, under the supervisions of additional commissioner enforcement, took action against the restaurants which are avoiding to pay sales tax on their heavy sales.
The Punjab Revenue Authority also took action against those restaurants which are avoiding to pay sales tax to the authority.
PRA has started installing monitoring System (RIMS)’ aimed to enhance the revenue of the provincial exchequer. Punjab Revenue Authority has also started a prize scheme to convince the masses for demanding sales tax compliant invoices from restaurants.
Sources also told that in coming days Punjab Revenue Authority will continue its crackdown against those restaurants which are not submitting sales tax as per their sales.
