Panelists for favorable & business friendly policies for local, international investors
LAHORE: Panelists stressed the need for favorable atmosphere and business friendly policies for conducting business for the local as well as international investors at Ease of Doing Business Conference.
The conference was opened by Governor Punjab Rafique Rajwana at the Pearl Continental Hotel in Lahore, where more than 250 entrepreneurs, along with regulators, industrial experts and diplomats shared their insights, ideas and knowledge.
Federal Minister of Commerce and Industries Khurram Dastagir Khan and several ambassadors, senior diplomats also attended the forum as guests of honor, while the speakers discussed critical topics, with the aim to devise an effective roadmap for Pakistan’s brighter future.
The US Consul General in Lahore Yuriy R Fedkiw and Ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan Jean-Francois Cautain and other distinguished speakers included Telenor Chief of Corporate Affairs and Strategy Muhammad Aslam Hayat, to discuss the Telecom Sector in Pakistan.
The President of APBF Ibrahim Qureshi presented the concept of this conference and stated that “We are thankful for the enthusiastic participation of so many industrial leaders and regulatory experts in this insightful forum. This event will go a long way in meeting the key objectives of APBF, as we strive hard to promote and protect the interests of the business community, besides suggesting industrial reforms to the policy-makers.
Another discussion by a panel of experts was also held in which Ms. Uzma Manzar Chief Executive of Platform, Carlos Morales Ambassador of Spain, Shehryar Tahir Deputy General Manager External Affairs at SMEDA, Rizwan Khalid Butt Chairman of Punjab Industrial Estate & Management Company, Asif Ali Tipoo Chief Executive of Hoest, Senior Vice President Sundar Industrial Estate, the Principal of Kinnaird College for Women, Abdul Basit President LCCI and the CEO of Footlib Wasim Zakaria also participated.
