ISLAMABAD: The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) should also look into the matters regarding protection of rights of smaller consumers, said Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
He stated this while speaking at a seminar to celebrate the World Competition Day, organised by the CCP here, which was attended in large numbers by government officials, representatives of regulatory organisations and the business community.
Dar said competition resulted in lower prices and more choices for consumers, it also fostered innovation, promoted entrepreneurship and helped prepare domestic firms for international competition. He added the CCP besides major cartels should also work on the protection of consumers including the implementation of consumer rights.
