KARACHI: The “Provincial Record Cell” (PRC) of the Board of Revenue (BoR) Sindh is not working properly as the people of the province are facing various problems in tracing their land records
According to details, BoR Chairman Muhammad Rizwan Memon has already stated that the officials concerned were compiling the land record, but it was lost in a fire incident at the central office of the board a few years ago. However, the PRC is not yet functioning properly in recent days.
It is pertinent to mention here that a “Provincial Record Cell” (PRC) was established in October, 2010 after the destruction of record of rights of 870 Dehs of Sindh during riots due the assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on December 27, 2007.
The PRC was established with the functions which were followed by:
Issuance of Record of Rights registers with unique identity and security features and tracking of these books. Scanning of Regular basis Mutations in all 136 Taluka of Sindh and its data Entry as backup record from October, 2010 to June, 2014, about 5,000,00 mutations/ proprietary rights of general public are saved with back up record along with its computerization.
The people were of the view that the provincial government should take immediate steps in order to activate the PRC properly, so that their issues and grievances could be redressed.
