LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has decided to start crackdown against restaurants, beauty salons and other elite services across the province.
The PRA is very vigilant in Lahore and has sealed many restaurants, especially in posh areas of the city and the department has also set up monitoring teams to keep eye on famous boutiques, fashion brands and beauty salons. The PRA is now focusing on small cities of Punjab to expand tax net.
It is pertinent to mention here that Punjab Revenue Authority has set a new mile stone in its history and has collected huge revenue for the province in the wake of taxes on services in first seven months of the fiscal year of 2015-16. Total revenue generated by PRA in first seven months was reached to Rs 31 billion. It is expected that revenue will be increased in coming days as crackdown is being started in other cities of the province.
