MULTAN, APRIL 10: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) observed “Tax Day” in Multan city to create the tax awareness in the business community about the significance of paying taxes regularly.
The Punjab Revenue has marked April 10 as a “Tax Day” to create public awareness about being tax compliant and importance of revenue generation in helping the government to ensure provision of public facilities.
In connection with the celebrations of “Tax Day” across Punjab, the Punjab Revenue Authority has organized a seminar in the District Coordination Office Multan to inform public about the importance of taxes for the development of the country.
Additional Commissioner Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Multan Raees Abdul Hai Humayun told CT on this occasion that the payment of taxes is a national responsibility of the citizen in the country. He said that observing Tax Day is a step which would help promote a culture to pay taxes as provision of basic amenities was linked to it.
A reform in the Tax Regime has been initiated in the country for generation of taxes and government will spend these taxes on human development, he maintained. People should pay their liable taxes in due time for the progress of the country, he stressed. The Punjab Revenue Authority works as a neutral tax law enforcement agency in the province that ensures collection of government’s due tax.
Chairman Punjab Revenue Authority Raheel Ahmad Siddiqui, Finance Minister of Punjab Ayesha Ghous, Minister of Excise and Taxation Punjab Shuja Pasha along with others have also joined the seminar through video link conference. Commissioner Multan Bilal Ahmad Butt and others also joined the seminar organized in the wake of Tax Day.
