LISBON: Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 1.08% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 0.53% or 0.0130 points to trade at 2.4800 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 0.51% or 0.0850 points to end at 16.7950 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) was up 0.42% or 0.050 points to 12.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 7.12% or 0.0153 points to trade at 0.1995 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 3.22% or 0.0100 points to end at 0.3010 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 1.59% or 0.0590 points to 3.6460.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 10 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.20% or 0.11 to $54.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $49.12 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.98% or 13.09 to trade at $1352.09 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.69% to 1.1999, while EUR/GBP rose 0.47% to 0.9180.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.62% at 91.64.
