WASHINGTON: Port of Coupeville is looking to hire a professional consultant to prepare its 10-year comprehensive plan. The port said it anticipates the job will cost as much as $30,000. A request for qualifications was posted on the port’s website Jan. 11. The deadline for bids is Feb. 3. The request is for consultant services for preparations of a comprehensive scheme and strategic plan for 2017-27.
“There are many firms out there that have the expertise that we don’t have on our staff,” said Jan-Marc Jouas, interim executive director for the port. Community participation in the development of the comprehensive plan will be part of the process. The port’s current comprehensive plan was drafted in 2007. The document is supposed to be reviewed every two years, but it hasn’t been reviewed since 2010, according to Jouas.
