LAHORE: Khamis Saeed Butt, acting chairman Pakistan Industrialist and Traders Association Front (PIAF) said Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline Project would be lifeline for energy sector of Pakistan and the government should complete this project on priority basis.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Butt said that the government must not take any pressure on this project of national importance as it would help overcome the energy shortage that has halted the economic activities.
The PIAF acting chairman said that due to gas shortage, the industrial process has come to a grinding halt. He added that because of low productions the industrial growth is fast shrinking.
PIAF acting chairman said that in the current scenario, when government was proposing to suspend gas to the industry for three months, Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline Project is a ray of hope.
Earlier, the President of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry presented one month performance report of LCCI. It was also decided on the occasion that PIAF and LCCI would work together for the promotion of business activities.
