FLORIDA: Hill resident Morris Porton official has been selects chairman of the Pasco Hernando State College board of trustees for 2015-16, and Edward Blommel of Dade City has been elected vice chairman.
Porton is a retired Florida Traditions Bank senior vice president who served on the board of directors for the college’s foundation until his appointment to the board of trustees in November 2011.Blommel is a retired regional manager for the Tampa Electric Co. with 40 years of service and served in the Florida National Guard.
He has served on the boards of numerous organizations and committees. Blommel was recently recognized by Congress for his community service. He is an alumnus of PHSC and the University of South Florida in Tampa.
