MANILA: The Philippines has lifted the import ban on poultry products from two areas in Belgium. Importers can now resume buying poultry from the municipalities of Oostkamp and Menen in West Flanders province. The Department of Agriculture (DA) banned poultry imports from Belgium in August last year due to an avian influenza outbreak in the European country.
With the lifting of the ban, the Philippine government would resume the processing, evaluation of the application and issuance of sanitary and phytosanitary import clearance of domestic and wild birds and poultry products from Belgium.
