The sources at the dry port Peshawar on Wednesday said that due to several reasons the number of impounded cars has increased. For years the goods remain at the base until special attempts are made for sale of these cars to increase the revenue collections.
The dry port Peshawar through auctions have sold many cars and collected millions of extra revenue for the national exchequer in the last nine months. Still a number of cars will be impounded in the next coming months for which special directives had been issued by the Deputy Collector Dry Port Peshawar to the authorities and a big amount of revenue will be added to the collections of dry port stations.
The dry port Peshawar situated near the railway station indeed serves as junction to receive goods from Lahore, Karachi and other dry port stations and goods are distributed from here by roads to other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
