PESHAWAR: The Model Customs Collectorate, Peshawar may generate huge revenue through auctioning the confiscated mobile phones.
Sources said that the seized mobile phones worth Rs160 million have been ‘lying unattended’ at the warehouse of Peshawar Customs for the last several years. The Customs authorities should auction these mobile phones, which may be damaged, sources said, adding that these handsets cannot be used without proper permission of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
The official sources said that to auction these devices, it is necessary to take NOC from the PTA and they can only be sold to authorised dealers, recommended by the PTA.
