PESHAWAR: The custom officials foiled a bid to smuggle 300 bags of fertilizer loaded on trucks to Afghanistan and arrested two smugglers.
According to the details, the custom officials found 300 bags of urea (50kg each bag) being illegally carried by two trucks at Torkham border in Khyber Agency. Two smugglers were arrested during the action.
The custom officials confiscated the fertilizer and started the investigations after arresting two suspects.
Talking to Customs Today, sources said that the fertilizer and the vehicle were shifted to Custom House Peshawar.
Meanwhile, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested two suspects and recovered 1,410 gram heroin and hashish from their possession on Tuesday.
Officials said that in the first crackdown at Peshawar Airport, the ANF arrested a passenger identified as Iftikhar Khan who confessed to swallowing 92 heroin filled capsules containing 500 gram heroin each.
During the search of his luggage, the ANF also found 410 gram Amphetamine concealed in his hand bag. He was boarding for UAE by Air Arabia Flight No. G9-825.
In another operation, the force arrested Mir Gul, a resident of Khyber Agency, while he was travelling in a passenger van near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar and recovered 500 gram hashish from his possession.
It is to mention here that it was the second incident the ANF recovered heroin from the possession of the smugglers. Earlier to this, a similar case was reported at Bacha Khan International Airport in the flight of the same airline.
