PESHAWAR: The Modal Customs collectorate showed shortfall in various sectors of revenue and collected Rs12221.67 million against Rs13831 million of the previous year seven months target with shortfall of minus 1609.50 million up to February 2017.
According to Peshawar Customs House, in head custom duty the house collected Rs4607.91 million against Rs4985.79 million with difference minus Rs377.88 million while the difference in percentage was minus 3.97 percent.
In head of sales tax on import the house collected Rs2919.72 million against the previous year seven months target of Rs3248.62 million with difference of minus Rs330.48 million while the difference in percentage was minus 10.17 percent.
In head of sales tax levied as federal excise duty on palm oil the house collected Rs1110.90 million against Rs1524.06 million with difference of minus Rs413.16 million.
In head of federal excise duty on imports the Customs House collected Rs113.09 million against Rs162.57 million with difference of minus Rs49.48 million while the difference in percentage was minus 30.44 percent.
In head of withholding tax the Customs House collected Rs3036.33 million against Rs3434.47 million with difference of minus Rs398.14 million with percentage of minus 11.59 percent.
The overall performance of the house badly affected due to the frequent tension on Torkham border in last seven months the revenue collection processes badly suffered.
