ISLAMABAD: The Customs Collectorate Peshawar collected Rs 7,553.78 million during the first five months of the financial year 2016-17 under the head of all duties and taxes against the assigned target of Rs 8,308 million. The Collectorate also paid refunds of customs duty worth Rs 61.56 million from July to November FY2016-17.
According to details, the collectorate collected Rs 2,876.12 under head of customs duty against the assigned target of Rs 3,174.0 million during the first five months of the current fiscal year.
Sources told Customs Today that the Collectorate collected Rs 2,594.69 million from July to November against the given target of Rs 3,006.0 million. The collectorate also paid refunds under the head of sales tax amounting to Rs 1.5 million.
It is told that during the first five months of FY16-17, the MCC collected Rs 65.09 million under the head of federal excise duty (FED) on imports against the given target of Rs 116.0 million.
The sources added that during the period the collectorate collected Rs 2,017.88 million against the assigned target of Rs 2,012.0 million under head of additional income tax (AIT) and withholding tax (WHT). They further said that efforts were being made to meet annual target of revenue collection.
