LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department of Punjab has recovered a huge amount of property tax from Pakistan Cricket Board.
Sources told Customs Today that Pakistan Cricket Board has paid its default amount of Rs 42 million. Excise Punjab receive the property tax after four years.
The Pakistan Cricket Board had approached to the Lahore High Court against this tax and got a stay order as well. In May 2015, the Excise sealed the properties of the PCB in Lahore just before the arrival of Zimbabwean cricket team for home series in Pakistan.
But after assurance and interferences of top government officials, the Excise de-sealed the property of the PCB including Nishtar Park Lahore. Now the issue between two departments has been resolved as the Pakistan Cricket Board has paid Rs 42 million property tax.
