KARACHI: The Pak Rupee weakened by five paisas against dollar on Wednesday owing to higher demand for import and corporate payments.
The rupee ended Rs139.44 to the dollar from previous day’s closing of Rs139.39 in inter-bank foreign exchange market. The inter-bank foreign exchange market was initiated in the range of Rs139.39 and Rs139.40. The market recorded day high of Rs139.45 and low of Rs139.40 and closed at Rs139.44.
The currency experts said that the rupee likely to maintain levels in coming days due to sufficient inflows. The exchange rate in open market also witnessed deterioration in rupee value.
The buying and selling of dollar was recorded at Rs139.30/Rs139.80 from previous day’s closing of Rs139.20/Rs139.80 in cash ready market.
