LAHORE: A Chinese delegation, led by H.E. Mr. HOU Changan, Secretary General of Communist Party of China of Hubei Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection of People Republic of China, called on Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman NAB at the NAB Headquarters. Deputy Chairman NAB, Deputy Prosecutor General Accountability (PGA), Representatives from Chinese Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the meeting.
Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, Chairman NAB, welcomed the Chinese delegation and said Pakistan and China are time tested friends. Our friendship is higher than the Himalayas and deeper than the deepest sea in the world and sweeter than honey”. He said anti-corruption work is also being given importance so as to curb corruption. He said that last year Pakistan and China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation on matters carried with efforts to weed out corruption. He said signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Pakistan and China is specially significant in the backdrop of increasing economic and trade cooperation between Pakistan and China with a resolve by both governments to work in a fair, impartial and corruption-free environment in order to share their experiences to eradicate corruption.
The Chairman NAB said the NAB has perfected its procedures and Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) to rationalize the workload, and timelines have been prescribed for efficient, effective and expeditious disposal of cases.
Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said the NAB had devised Quantified Grading System (PQGS) to review and evaluate the performance of all the NAB regional bureaus on annual basis in order to know their strengths and weaknesses.
