LONDON: Vauxhall ADAM Grand Slam will make its UK debut at the Auto sport International Show at the NEC in Birmingham next month (8-11 January).
Originally previewed last year at the Geneva and Frankfurt Motor Shows, the ADAM Grand Slam is powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine and features a specially-tuned chassis and VXR braking system.
Derived from the ADAM’s existing four-cylinder, 1.4-litre engine, and a new version of the Turbo ECOTEC unit has been developed exclusively for the Grand Slam model, pumping out 150PS and 220Nm of torque for a specific power output exceeding 100PS/litre.
A front lip spoiler, side sill mouldings and an extended rear bumper cut-out with a visible, bold exhaust tailpipe have been added to give the bodywork a more muscular appearance than that of the standard ADAM. Ten paint finishes and four further roof combinations are available with the Red’n’Roll roof design reserved exclusively for Grand Slam customers. A rear spoiler above the rear window and a special ADAM logo on the C pillars complete the look.
Inside, the driver and front passenger can choose between four different seating arrangements, three of which are exclusively available for the Grand Slam variant, including the Recaro Performance seats in Morrocana or nappa leather. The interior reflects the Red’n’Roll design, with the optional leather package including black and red steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake in leather or the red and white lighting for the instrument panels and doors.
Order books for the ADAM Grand Slam will open in January 2015.
