MULTAN: An Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) driver was killed and four other officials were injured near Dera Ghazi Khan on Friday morning.
According to details, Multan Customs received information that smuggled goods will be transported on certain routes of Dera Ghazi Khan. An ASO team was deployed to check the suspected vehicles and goods. The team consisted of Inspector Mohsin Raza, two sepoys Moeen Ajmal, Ashfaq Hussain, hawaldar Abdul Qadeer and driver Allah Baksh was chasing a suspicious vehicle near Chowk Qureshiwala when their vehicle went out of control and smashed into a tree. As a result, driver Allah Baksh died on the spot and four others were injured. All the four injured were admitted to hospital for treatment where hawaldar Abdul Qadeer is in critical condition.
The deceased driver of Multan Customs Allah Baksh was 59 years old and survived by five children. His body was sent to his native village in Lodhran Karor Pakka. His funeral prayers were attended by a large number of his colleagues.
The entire staff of Anti-Smuggling Organization Multan was sad due to tragic accident of their employees and Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich have also visited the Nishtar Hospital and prayed for the early recovery of injured employees.
