Tollvesenet uses already electronic technology at border crossings and they want to expand the use of this technology to other geographical areas, according to a Tollvesenet director Bjørn Røse.
“We should be mobile, unpredictable and use modern technology in combating smuggling. This requires signs reading cameras at border crossings, strengthened staffing, several mobile customs patrols, more service dogs, more scanning and X-ray equipment and control facilities at the border customs stations”, said Røse in a statement.
Customs will also enhance intelligence operations to target the selection of who will be controlled.
