OSLO: Norway’s minister of fisheries and China’s minister of veterinary issues have signed an agreement on the import and export of foodstuffs.
“China is Norway’s most important trading partner in Asia and there is a great potential for exporting Norwegian seafood to China. It is therefore very positive that [Shuping] Zhi visits Norway and that the contact between the food safety authorities is now resumed,” said Per Sandberg.
“The agreement we have signed today will strengthen bilateral cooperation in the import and export of foodstuffs, and is therefore important for the Norwegian seafood industry.”
China and Norway also recently agreed to resume negotiations on a free trade agreement by the end of the summer.
