Pyongyang: North Korean scientists have evaded UN sanctions imposed to curb Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons programme and are studying courses on space science and satellite technology at a research institute in northern India.
More than 30 North Korean students have passed through the Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific since it opened in 1995, it has emerged.
The institute, in Dehradun, capital city of the state of Uttarakhand, continued to accept students from Pyongyang after UN sanctions in 2006 barred member states from providing North Korea with any technical training or assistance related to nuclear arms.
