WELLINGTON: The New Zealand share market managed to eke out a small gain on Wednesday, rising 6.28 points or 0.1% to close the session at 6148.43.
Accounting software firm Xero (XRO.NZ) was among the day’s gainers, rising 1.19% to NZ$17.00. Gas and electricity distributor Vector (VCT.NZ) was also up, gaining 2.21% to NZ$3.24; while fellow energy company Meridian Energy (MEL.NZ) was up 1.74% to NZ$2.34. It wasn’t all positive for electricity stocks though, with Contact Energy (CEN.NZ) falling 1.08% to NZ$4.60.
