WASHINGTON: The Port of Ngqura at Coega, Port Elizabeth, has a new manager. Tandi Lebakeng, a former manager of the Mossel Bay harbour, has taken over from Mpumi Dweba, who now heads the Port of Cape Town. Transnet National Ports Authority made a number of changes following the resignation of two managers at the Cape Town and Saldanha ports.
Transnet National Ports Authority chief executive Richard Vallihu said: “Lebakeng has been with Transnet for more than 20 years and her experience spans trade and logistics, business strategy and planning and development.” Lebakeng was appointed as port manager of Mossel Bay in 2012 after acting as port manager in Saldanha. The Saldanha port will be headed by Vernal Jones.
