KHATMANDU: Floods and landslides across the country have caused a severe effect on Nepal Stock Exchange as the benchmark index has suffered a double-digit fall today.
The index dipped by 12.97 points to close at 1629.16 points. A total of Rs 16 lakh 15 thousand and 738 shares of the total 160 companies were traded at Rs 78 crore 36 lakh seven thousand and 408, according to Nepse.
All banking groups except for hotel ended in the red. Banking group fell by 10.86 points while development bank by 13.74, hydro power companies by 24.49, finance by 3.96 and insurance group by 88.76.
Likewise, production groups shares dropped by 28.34 points and other groups by 5.79. However, Hotel group’s share increased by 3.2 points.
