ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has approved a supplementary reference against PPP’s MPA Ghulam Muhammad Shahliani, his sons and others, charging him with misuse of authority and causing loss of Rs198 million to the national exchequer.
The supplementary reference was filed against MPA Shahliani and his sons, Gohar Ali and Ali Nawaz Khan and others as a probe deepened against Abdul Hameed Pathan, the administrator of the Town/Taluka Municipal Officer (TMO) of Garhi Khairo in district Jacobabad.
They have been accused of misusing authority and misappropriating municipal funds.
According to a NAB statement issued on Thursday, an investigation was carried out by the accountability watchdog in Sukkur, showing that the funds in question were transferred into the accounts of the MPA’s sons from accounts of dummy contractors. The NAB has already given an approval for filing a reference against them in an accountability court in Sukkur.
