MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office tax collection exceeded Rs.9 billion after the close of 29th December.
The Regional Tax Office Multan was assigned revenue collection target of Rs9.96 billion for the month of December 2017-18.The Regional Tax Office was remained functional after 5 pm on the special directions of Federal Board of Revenue and collected taxes from designated branches of National Bank of Pakistan.
Sources informed about partial statistics of Regional Tax Office Multan that RTO Multan collected Rs665 million advance tax from Bank Al –Habib on Friday. Tax authorities of Regional Tax Office has also directed MEPCO to deposit their taxes before the end of December and Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) has submitted withholding taxes of almost Rs.620 million to RTO Multan. Withholding taxes were collected from consumers in the jurisdiction and they have paid to tax authorities.
M/s Fatima Fertilizer company has deposited almost Rs550 million in wake of advance Income taxes to Regional Tax Office Multan.
M/s Sheikhu Fatima and Layyah Sugar Mills have deposited Rs290 million in terms of sales taxes to Regional Tax Office Multan on Friday. The regional tax authorities collected Rs20 million sales tax from beverage company M/s Gourmet. M/s Fatima Fertilizer has also paid taxes under workers welfare taxes of worth Rs.250 million. The Regional Tax Office Multan has collected Rs50 million advance tax from M/s Pak Arab Fertilizer Company.
The highest tax collection collected by tax authorities of Multan from collection of sales taxes on import stage of High Speed Diesel during the December. Almost Rs.3 billion sales taxes were collected from High Speed Diesel (HSD) so far from PARCO.
The Federal Board of Revenue Regional Tax Office Multan is likely to exceed the assigned taxes due to collection of huge amount of advance income taxes from corporate companies located in the jurisdiction.
