MULTAN: The Regional Tax Office of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected Rs 60 million as federal excise duty from the sugar mills owners.
Sources of RTO informed Customs Today that federal excise duty was collected by Regional Tax Office Multan after the beginning of crushing process of sugar cane and their selling of sugar stock in the trading market. The Regional Tax Office is also conducting survey of various industrial units to monitor their production and their tax payments. The Regional Tax Office has also conducted survey of sugar mills located in the jurisdiction of Multan and informed them through notice for the payment of their taxes.
The Regional Tax Office have collected Rs 60 million from three sugar mills recently and further tax collection from sugar mills expected in next couple of days .
The Regional Tax Office Multan has started collection of taxes from sugar mills owners to ensure their effective collection for the accomplishment of assigned target from Federal Board of Revenue. RTO Multan has started focusing on different business and industrial sector for the collection of their taxes.
Layyah Sugar Mills, Sheikhoo Sugar Mills and Fatima Sugar Mills have paid Rs 15 million, Rs 30 million and Rs 15 million respectively in terms of federal excise duty.
