MULTAN: The Federal Board of Revenue Regional Tax Office have collected only 209 tax returns of taxpayers under Voluantary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS) till March 16, 2015. RTO also generated a revenue of Rs 23.6 million through this scheme.
Sources informed Customs Today that more businessmen wants to avail the benefits of VTCS, so this is the main reason behind that government decided to extend the last date for filing of returns through VTCS till March 31st.
FBR authorities are quite optimistic that they will receive more positive response from non-filers in future. FBR already announced a number of incentives for non-filers, who wants to become tax filers through VTCS.
