MULTAN: Customs Intelligence and Investigation forwarded seizure case of foreign origin red chilli seeds after completion of investigation to Customs Adjudication for trial.
According to details, Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation intercepted huge consignment of M/s Noorul-Ameen Enterprises in their action near Sher Shah Toll Plaza. Said consignment of red chilli was loaded on a Nissan truck trailer bearing registration no: JV-0386 Model 2015 along with container of 40 feets.
Customs Intelligence and Investigation team recovered 520 bags of polypropylene which were packed and total weight of recovered foreign origin red chilli was 20800 kilograms (12 tons).
Driver of the container Qaiser Nisar provided photocopy of import documents to Customs Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) on their demand for verification. The provided GDs revealed that recovered red chilli seeds (crushed) cleared from Sost Border. But produced GDs to Customs Intelligence found irrelevant during verification.
During investigation of Customs Intelligence and Investigation they detected that foreign origin red chilli seeds were booked against the consignee Rao Idrees son of Barkat Ali resident of Shah Rukhne Alam Colony Multan.
In the light of investigation it revealed that foreign origin red chilli seeds were packed in the Indian origin bags and they were non-customs paid. The net worth of the seized Red Chilli Seeds was almost Rs20 million along with vehicles and their duty tax was almost Rs2.95 million.
The seizure case of red chilli seed has been forwarded to Customs Adjudication for trial. Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Talib Hussain will issue show cause notice to owner for proceedings of seizure case no: 915/2018 very soon.
