MULTAN: Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has recovered foreign origin motor oil lubricant and grease loaded on a truck near Sher Shah Toll Plaza in their action.
Sources told Customs Today that following the directions of Collector Ambreen Ahmad Tarar, Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has initiated crackdown against the smuggled goods in the jurisdiction. The Collector received credible information from their source that huge quantity of smuggled motor oil and grease will be transported through Multan region. Anti-smuggling staff was alerted and directed to remain vigilant regarding any attempt of smuggling.
Deputy Collector Saqib-ur-Rehman Warraich formed special team comprising Superintendent Muhammad Ramzan Seyal, Inspector Ghulam Asghar, Inspector Muhammad Saleem Khan, Irfan Qureshi and others to foil any attempt of smuggling.
Customs anti-smuggling squad intercepted a suspected truck near Sher Shah Toll plaza which was loaded with huge quantity of motor oil lubricant and grease. Customs teams recovered 10174 cartons of motor oil lubricant and 150 kilograms of grease in different drums during the searching of truck.
Customs teams asked driver of the vehicle to produce legal documents of the recovered motor oil and grease and he produced invoices to Multan staff which proved fake during verification process.
Then customs anti-smuggling squad took the Iranian origin motor oil lubricant and grease drums in their custody. Multan Customs seized motor oil and grease under Customs act 1969. The total worth of the seized motor oil and grease is almost Rs4.7 million along with vehicle.
