MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office has seized foreign origin furnace oil of Hascol Petroleum on smuggling.
According to details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan received information from their credible sources that huge quantity of furnace oil will be transported from Dera Ghazi Khan region. Deputy Director Abdul MueedKanjoo formed special team including Superintendent Fareed ud Din Masood, Inspector Farzand Ali, Inspector Umer Ali and others to carry out operation against smuggled furnace oil.
Customs Intelligence Unit Dera Ghazi Khan enhanced the monitoring and patrolling of the region to intercept any attempt of smuggling. Customs Intelligence unit Dera Ghazi Khan intercepted the Hino oil tanker during the examination of the goods which was filled with furnace oil near Sakhi Sarwar region in the suspect of smuggling. The Hino oil tanker having registration number 903/Lasbella were taken into custody by Customs Intelligence staff.
Customs Intelligence asked the driver Hayatullah who was resident of Landi Kotal to produce the import documents of the said oil tanker to prove their legal possession. The presented documents revealed that said furnace oil was transported in the possession of Hascol Petroleum Limited Karachi.
The foreign origin Furnace oil was proved non-customs paid during examination and verification process of the said documents. Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan decided to seized the said furnace oil of 60,000 liters after taking necessary legal actions.
The value of the seized foreign origin furnace oil was almost Rs.2.8 million and levied duty taxes of Rs.1 million. The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office has also seized the Hino Oil Tanker of worth Rs.3 million in their action under Customs act 1969.
