MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs team impounded two duty paid luxurious BMWs in their ongoing crackdown against smuggled vehicles. The market value of impounded vehicles is Rs14 million. Both vehicles were detained from Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan.
Sources told Customs Today that the car cell of the customs actively working and equipped with necessary technology, linked with excise and taxation departments and online database of legitimate imported vehicles. Car Cell has also intensified its efforts to seize such vehicles using technology and equipment for verification of documents.
Multan Customs Car Cell intercepts the suspected vehicles on daily basis which are being checked and verified with the actual import database available on the spot.
Multan Customs car cell impounded two luxurious BMW vehicles bearing registration number of QK-710/Islamabad from Multan and DB-169/Islamabad from Dera Ghazi Khan which were brought in violation of Import Policy Order and they have been seized after verification and necessary legal requirements. Inspector Muhammad Ali and Inspector Rao Muhammad Saleem impounded both luxurious vehicles during their anti-smuggling actions.
Anti-smuggling strategy of Multan Customs has made smuggling of vehicles impossible for the smugglers. The daily seizure of smuggled vehicles shows that illegal vehicles smuggling has been made difficult for smugglers due to crackdown of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization.
