MULTAN: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range office has impounded non-customs paid vehicles and miscellaneous goods worth Rs63.40million during the month of March of Financial Year 2016-17.
Deputy Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office Abdul Mueed Kanjoo intensified the anti-smuggling operations against smuggled goods and vehicles on the directions of Director General Shaukat Ali.
The Customs Intelligence Unit Multan has detected sizeable amount of seizures valued Rs52.80million of goods and vehicles during March.
The Customs Intelligence and Investigation have made 17 seizures in the anti-smuggling activities in the territory. The Customs Intelligence and Investigation have impounded 12 non-customs paid vehicles worth Rs31.49million during March. The Customs Intelligence has impounded these vehicles from Motorways, Toll Plaza and adjoining areas of Multan and the Customs teams also focused on other areas in their anti-smuggling actions.
Customs Intelligence Unit of Sadiqabad and Dera Ghazi have also enhanced monitoring of goods and vehicles in their sensitive regions to curb the menace of smuggling.
