Multan: Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) seized imported cloth of worth Rs9.3 Million on misdeclaration.
As per detail, Customs I&I Multan raided a container on a tip of informer. The seized cloth was declared as imported from Europe but it found as imported from China in invoices.
Deputy Director Custom’s intelligence and investigation (I&I) Nisar Ahmad has instructed all officials to take strict actions to curb the menace of smuggling. He also shaped a team of customs officials to raid smuggling of imported cloth which cost national exchequer billions loss every year.
The cloth was being smuggled to Lahore from Karachi but Customs intelligence abort the attempt of smuggling and start investigations under customs act 1969.
The cloth was confiscated by the customs Intelligence due to misdeclaration as importers of cloth were trying to save more than one million rupees duty on this cloth.
