MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs generated Rs9.790 million through auction of successful bidding of non-duty paid vehicles and miscellaneous goods.
According to details, Multan Customs held auction of confiscated vehicles and various miscellaneous goods which were seized by Anti-Smuggling Organization in their different actions. Public auction was held at the Multan Dry Port near Sher Shah Bypass. The Collectorate displayed banners for marketing of auction to attract public for generating handsome revenue.
As many as 12 vehicles of various models of non-customs paid were presented in the public sale and almost eight vehicles of different brands including Toyota Premio , Mitsubishi Pajero, Toyota Mark X ,Toyota Probox ,Toyota Corolla ,Toyota Civic car Hybrid, Toyota Passo , Grand Cherokee Wagon, Toyota Hilux Surf and others were sold out in almost Rs 9.2 million during auction. Four different vehicles were rejected during auction due to fewer price offered by bidders in open Public sale.
All these confiscated vehicles offered in the auction were non-customs paid and they were seized by Anti-Smuggling Organization in their different actions from jurisdiction. These 12 non-customs paid vehicles were confiscated by Customs Adjudication after proper trial of their seizure cases.
Assistant Collector Multan Dry Port Muhammad Ikram supervised the auction of confiscated goods and vehicles at Multan Dry Port along with Inspector Qaiser Rashid Khan to ensure transparency.
