MULTAN: Customs Collectorate generated Rs13.97 million through auction of confiscated goods and vehicles
Sources told Customs Today, Multan Customs conducted public auction of non-customs paid vehicles and various confiscated smuggled goods at Multan Dry Port.
Multan Customs successfully sold three vehicles out of seven foreign origins confiscated vehicles of different brands and models including Grand Cherokee wagon jeep, Mitsubishi Pajero, Honda Civic car, Toyota Mark X, Toyota Probox, Toyota Land Cruiser jeep. Confiscated vehicles were sold out in Rs3.7 million. Rejected vehicles were offered fewer prices in the bid. All presented vehicles were non-customs paid and smuggled ones.
Multan Customs sold 11 lots of miscellaneous goods worth Rs10.27 million including foreign origin auto spare parts, electronic goods, clothes, cosmetics and other goods.
All these confiscated vehicles and miscellaneous goods offered in the auction were non-customs paid and they were impounded by Anti-Smuggling Organization in their different actions from jurisdiction. Confiscated goods and vehicles were disposed in the auction after proper trial of their seizure cases from Customs Adjudication.
Assistant Collector Multan Dry Port Muhammad Ikram supervised whole auction process of confiscated goods and vehicles along with Inspector Qaiser Rashid Khan to ensure transparency.
