MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate generated Rs 8.5 million through auction of non-duty paid vehicles and miscellaneous goods.
According to details, Customs Collectorate held second auction in June for disposal of confiscated vehicles and miscellaneous goods seized by Anti-Smuggling Organization.
Customs offered four various lots of confiscated vehicles for public sale including Toyota Land Cruiser TX Prado jeep, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Suzuki Alto and Toyota Premio car during auction.
As many as three vehicles were sold out successfully in approximately Rs 3.2 million during auction. Toyota Land Cruiser TX Prado was not sold due to low price offered from bidders in the auction.
The Customs Collectorate also offered various confiscated lots of miscellaneous goods including android cell phones of various brands, old and used tyres of different brands, drone cameras, auto parts, foreign origin auto parts, almonds, coriander, art silk cloth, plastic valve cigarettes of foreign origin brands, joggers, auto ceramics coating dental surgical tools, curtain cloth in different colour and design and other goods.
Multan Customs sold out various miscellaneous items in Rs 5.3 million during auction. The auction was held at Multan Dry Port. Assistant Collector Muhammad Ikram and Inspector Muhammad Asif supervised whole of the auction process to ensure transparency.
