MULTAN: Customs Collector Saud Imran Ahmad has directed Multan Collectorate staff deputed at the Multan International Airport to enhance monitoring to curb any sort of smuggling.
The Model Customs Collectorate has directed the deputed staff at Multan International Airport to remain vigilant and remain alert at the time of performing their duty. Collector Saud Imran has also enhanced the monitoring of the coming goods through proper examination at Multan International Airport. After the establishment of Multan International Airport, numbers of international flights have been increased from 24 to almost 130.
Multan Customs has also deputed more than 50 staff of Collectorate including assistant collector, superintendent, inspectors, examiners and sepoys at the Multan International Airport for monitoring of coming goods and to foil any attempt of smuggling. Multan Customs and other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) including Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Airport Security Force (ASF) and others are also performing their duties and cooperating with each other to thwart any attempt of smuggling.
Collector Saud Imran directed customs staff to take special measures at Multan International Airport to prevent smuggling of goods.
It is important to mention here that Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a suspected passenger from Multan International Airport who was coming from Dubai through a private airlines few days ago and recovered huge quantity of non-customs goods including branded cellular phones, play station, laptops, and others precious things of worth Rs.1.5 million in their action.
After this action of Federal Investigation Agency, Multan Customs has also alerted their staff to remain vigilant to prevent ant smuggling attempt after successful action of FIA.
