MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs decided for destruction of expired Rani Juices and chocolate filled biscuits.
According to details, Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has seized non-duty paid foreign origin juices and chocolate filled biscuits from jurisdiction and said food items were confiscated by the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication after legal trial. Said smuggled crates of Rani Juices and chocolate filled biscuits were presented in different auctions but they remain unsold.
Multan Customs Collectorate found that 376 cartons of foreign origin Float juices (Rani) seized by Anti-Smuggling Organization were expired on 13th December 2019.
The Collectorate also found that 150 of chocolate filled biscuits (Hi Bye) were also expired on 18th March cartons of toffees which were expired on 8 January 2019.Deputy Collector State Ware House of Multan Customs has also intimated owners of said food items about destruction and finalized said food items for destruction.
These food items cannot be auctioned due to expiry and said goods were also unfit for human consumption .Customs has decided to destroy all expire food items available in the State Warehouse.
Multan Customs State Warehouse has done all necessary arrangements and said food items would be destroyed next week.
