MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate collected Rs4728.663 million of revenue during the month of May in economic year 2017-18.
Sources told Customs Today that Customs Collectorate collected Rs4728.663 million against the assigned target of Rs.4782.43 million during the month of May. The Customs Collectorate collected Rs1263.522 million customs duties (CD) against the assigned target of Rs1187.730 million during the month of May 2017-18.
Multan Customs posted 6.4 growths in the collection of customs duty during the month of May of on-going Fiscal Year 2017-18.While Multan Customs made collection of Rs.1041.868 million against Rs903.48 million collected during the same period of May in the corresponding fiscal year 2016-17.
Under the head of sale tax on import, Multan Customs generated Rs3421.608 million against the set target of Rs3567.60 million in the period of May. Multan Customs collected 96 percent assigned target of sales tax during May of existing economic year.
Multan Customs was able to collect sales taxes of Rs.3165.161 million in the matching period of previous financial year 2016-17. Sales tax collection rose about 10 % in May due to excess clearance of High Speed Diesel (HSD) from Multan Dry Port.
The Collectorate collected Rs16.054 million against Rs12.61 million collected under the head of federal excise duty (FED) in May and it generated 27.3 percent surplus federal excise duty (FED) from assigned revenue task. Multan Customs collected Rs11.565 million in terms of federal excise duty (FED) in the corresponding period of May 2016-17.
Multan Customs collected Rs25.329 million under the head of income tax against Rs 14.49 million collected during May of existing economic year 2017-18. Almost 74.8 percent of surplus income tax has been collected during corresponding month of May 2016-17. The collection of additional sales tax by Multan customs was Rs.2.150 million during the month of May.
However Customs Collectorate made total collection of Rs.4728.663 million during the month of May during current fiscal year 2017-18.
