MULTAN: The Model of Customs Collectorate Multan collected revenue of Rs1431.303 million during the first 18 days of January against the assigned target of Rs4364 million for the month of January.
The Collectorate of the Multan Customs has been given different revenue collection targets for the customs duty, sales tax, federal excise duty (FED) and withholding tax (WHT).
The Federal Board of Revenue has assigned revenue collection target of Rs678 million under the head of customs duty for January 2016 while Multan Customs collected Rs304 million under the head of customs duty so far. The Federal Board of Revenue has revised the yearly target of customs duty collection on the request of Multan Customs Collectorate after assessment of trade situation in South Punjab regarding their imports.
The FBR has assigned revenue collection target of Rs3560 million to Multan Customs in wake of sales tax for the month of January. On the other hand, Multan Customs has collected Rs658 million in wakes of sales taxes for the period of 18 days of January 2016. The Customs Collectorate Multan was assigned collection target of Rs24 million under the head of federal excise duty (FED) for January and MCC Multan has poised Rs7.395 million from collection of federal excise duty (FED) during the current month of January 2016.
Multan Customs allocated revenue collection target of Rs.92 million under the head of withholding tax (WHT) for the said period, while it has collected Rs8.585 million as withholding tax so far in current month of January.
During January, Multan Customs has also collected petroleum development levy of Rs453.323 million from the clearance of High Speed Diesel (HSD) so far in January. The Model of Customs Collectorate Multan is using all available resources to recover outstanding amount from defaulters.
