MULTAN: The Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office settled 53 various seizure cases after adjudicating worth Rs138.532 million during the month of April.
According to details, Customs Adjudication decided 15 seizure cases of deputy collector level forwarded by Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) in anti-smuggling activities. These seizure cases were related to evasion of customs duty and other taxes to the tune of Rs11.484 million during April. These seizure cases include vehicles, cloths, liquors, auto parts and miscellaneous goods.
Customs Adjudication settled 15 seizure cases in favor of tax department after completion of trial and issued Order-in-Originals (ONOs) in favor of Customs department. As many as 16 new seizure cases worth Rs11.247 million have been added in the court of deputy collector for trial during April.
Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Talib Hussain decided 33 seizure cases of smuggled vehicles and goods worth Rs61.997 million for the duration of April. About four seizure cases were decided in the favor of taxpayers by Additional Collector Talib Hussain after completion of trial in Customs Adjudication. Almost 40 fresh seizure cases worth Rs.71.960 million have been included for hearing in April.
Collector Muhammad Adnan Akram decided five seizure cases worth Rs66.466 million during said period after completion of hearing. Almost 4 new cases have been included in the court of Collector Customs Adjudication for trial in April.
