MULTAN: The Customs Adjudication settled 37 cases various seizure cases involving Rs234.270 million during the month of July 2018.
According to details, Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office disposed 43 different cases formed by Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation during the said period. Customs Adjudication has issued Order-in-Original (ONO) in 43 seizure cases after completion of legal proceedings.
Deputy collector settled as many as 27 various seizure cases of worth Rs14.192 million throughout July after trial of legal proceedings. Deputy collector settled one seizure case in favor of tax payer during July. Almost 13 fresh seizure cases of worth Rs.5.352 million have been added in the month of July in the Customs Adjudication.
Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Talib Hussain decided seven various seizure cases of worth Rs14.393 million during the month of July 2018-19.Almost 20 new seizure cases of Rs39.637 million were added for trial in the court of Additional Collector Customs Adjudication. Collector Appeal has also remanded back one case to Additional Collector for re-trial in July.
Collector Adjudication Asif Abbas Khan settled only two seizure cases of worth Rs205.685 million during July. Both seizure cases were decided in the favor of Customs department.
These decided cases include seizures of cloths, black tea, Iranian diesel, cell phones, foreign origin cigarettes, and auto parts and miscellaneous goods.
